Infant Warmer

Infant radiant warmers and incubators perform the function of maintaining the body temperature of newborn infants. This is specially useful for maintaining body temperatures of premature babies. These devices are predominantly found in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs).

The mechanisms for infant warmers and incubators differs in how they provide warmth to the infant. Infant warmers are equipped with an overhead heat lamp and a heated mattress that provide warmth to the infant. Incubators, on the other hand, warm the air around the infant as the device comprises of a closed enclosure. Both devices are essential to providing required care to newborn infants who are vulnerable to infections
